The magnitude of Monday night’s game, the 500th regular-season telecast of “Monday Night Football,” can best be measured by the size and color of the custom-fitted sport coat made for John Madden.
Madden and broadcasting partner Al Michaels will be decked out at Invesco Field at Mile High in the bright yellow blazers ABC Sports made famous in the 1970s.
“As opposed to the teams, we’ll be wearing the throwback uniforms on Monday night,” Fred Gaudelli, the show’s producer, confirmed Wednesday.
Like the telecast, which will splice in snippets of great moments in “Monday Night Football” history, the game also will seem like old times. For a league-record 13th time, the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders will be matched on “MNF.”
